This building was moved back about 200 feet or so off the road to make room for the new fire station which does not have this impressive bell tower. There is a memorial at the foot of the old fire station. The bricks at top and bottom read "1898" and "1998" so it seems the company has been around for over 111 years now. This original structure housed a horse-drawn engine and the bell was rung to alert the town folk of fire. In 1997 it was relocated so the present structure could be built to accommodate this growing town.
