Stopped by here early one morning to get photos of area so you could see the tea stained water. On a hot summer day, this is wall to wall people. Water level is lower than in past times because of sedimentation. I am not sure if it is erosion from the site itself or erosion that I have seen from the logging of areas upsteam or a combination effect. One bright spot to mention about this swimming hole is the clean up effort that has gone on for a while now. A local benefactor, who grew up in the mill village a few block away and has done well for himself and his family, saw the shape the area was in and hired a clean up crew to get up trash and haul in some sand for the edge of the property. Benches were placed near the water. A local convenience store has "BB" stickers similar to the "OBX" stickers for your vehicle if you desire. With these, you can proudly proclaim you have visited Bayfield Beach. If you please, humor an old man and take a photo of the Bayfield Beach to post on logging the visit, Oh yeah, if so inclined step on in the water's fine.
