Thomas Embree was a Quaker who came from Pennsylvania, and later moved to Ohio. This house was involved in a Civil War battle.

"Thomas Embree, son of Moses Embree, III, lived in Washington County, Tennessee, where he had a stonemason [Seth Smith] build a limestone house [in 1791] which still stand at Limestone, Tennessee. Thomas later moved to Ohio, where he build mills and a nail factory." (visit link)
