Built in 1936, these concrete steps allowed the community of Panther Hollow to reach easily the area around Schenley Plaza, the main Carnegie Public Library, and the academic institutions.
Now it is used by commuters that use the parking lots in the hollow, which charge a reduced rate, and are suitable for people that don't mind walking up a hundred-plus steps to save a few dollars per day.
