Montrose Court was built as Tudor-style luxury apartment house in 1922 on land owned by railroad magnate, George L. Carter. The construction was announced in a special edition of the newspaper on May 28, 1922 (visit link)

Fire in the dumbwaiter and trash chutes burned on November 13, 1928, thus the building was rebuilt as 30 residences which are now condominiums. In 1978, the building was close to being condemned for demolation. (visit link)

Renovation starting in 1983 saving the historical building. (visit link)
