EN: This ferry is a reactive cable ferry, i.e. it has no engine of any kind but uses the power of the current to get across the river. It connects the Medieval quarter of St. Alban with the North side of the Rhine.
It is a pedestrians ferry used by tourists and locals likewise.
It was established in 1894. Transfer costs 1.60 CHF for adults. Daily service, except for floods.
DE: Diese Fähre ist eine reaktive Kabelfähre, d.h. Sie hat keinerlei Motor, sondern nutzt die Kraft der Strömung, um über den Fluss zu gelangen. Sie verbindet das mittelalterliche Stadtviertel St. Alban mit den Vierteln nördlich des Rheins.
Die Fähre ist für Fussgänger und wird von Touristen und Einheimischen gleichermassen benutzt.
Sie wurde 1894 gegründet. Fahrtkosten 1,60 CHF für Erwachsene. Ausser während Überschwemmungen ist sie täglich in Betrieb.
