Train station Praha-Vršovice is useful mainly for travel to the South Bohemia (Rícany, Benešov, Tábor and Ceské Budejovice). It is also a starting point of the western branch of so called "Sazava Pacific Railroad" (railroads Praha - Vrané nad Vltavou - Cercany and Vrané nad Vltavou - Dobríš; they run through picturesque valley of Sázava river, the popular recreational area with many summer houses, campings and resorts for hiking and water sports). In the opposite direction, trains go to the Prague Main Station (Praha - Hlavní nádraží.
Train station Praha-Vršovice is (as all train stations in Prague) also a part of PID (Prague Integrated Transport) system - so all passenger trains are part of Prague Transportation System and you can use here ticket (or pass) valid for Prague's metro, trams or buses...
The station was built in 1880 and in 2005-2007 was completely reconstructed and modernized. The platforms and rails will be reconstructed in the next three years during complete reconstruction of railway track 211 Prague - Ceské Budejovice - Dolní Dvorište/Summerau on Austrian borders (so called IVth RAILWAY CORRIDOR).
