Long Description:
On September 2, 1998, Swissair Flight 111 went down off Halifax
with 229 lives lost. Many local people were affected by this
tragedy and contributed to the recovery operation. This memorial is
one of two erected to acknowledge the local communities' help and
remember those who perished in the crash.
