Highway 34 runs through the Naval Weapon Station - Earle's property. High fences, heavily guarded gates, and this Smokey Bear at the entrance (Asbury Avenue) make Earle safe and fire free.
There' not a lot of room here to pull over to visit Smokey. He sits on the lawn in front of the service entrance, and Highway 34 is always busy with heavy truck traffic. Please be careful when you pull to the side of the road.
