As part of a massive public works project of the 1930's, these steps were built to connect the residential neighborhoods on the hilltops with the factories and mills down below in the "flats". They are built of concrete slabs over columns and pillars.

Located in the neighborhood of Brighton Heights.

The distinguishing characteristic of these steps is that there is a public access entrance to the steps from Courtright St, connecting it with a long horizontal public sidewalk, narrowlingly placed between two private residential lots.
