Pivovarský dvur Chýne, located 13 km west of Prague, claims to be the first Czech micro brewery. It was established in 1992 in the buildings of a former collective farm. You can watch the process of brewing in the restaurant itself. The capacity is 80 people. The recently opened pub serves mainly to passing cyclists.
The brewery produces about 2000 hl a year. The beer is made with the traditional Czech technology using malt, hops and water. The beer is served in the restaurant or dispatched in 20l, 30l, or 50l barrels. Around 50% production is Granat, a lager beer type. All beer served in the restaurant is of the unfiltered yeasty kind, which means that it looks slightly turbid. This beer also has more vitamines and is generally healthier than other kinds.
