The 88m high tower, work of architect D. V. Ukhtomsky, was built between 1741 and 1770. Before the 1917 revolution it contained 42 bells in five stores. In 1930, more than half of the bells have taken of the tower and broken for scrap metal. Read more about the history of the bells

The monastery as well as the bell tower is open to the public. For photographing you have to buy a permit (100 roubles).
