The memorial was built in memory of the
3rd Shock Army of Red Army. A plaque reminds of its headquarters located in this place in December 1941, and about its way to Berlin - the units of 3rd army were the ones which raised the Soviet flag on Reichstag in May 1945.
It is located in a small park, there isn't much to see except the memorial itself, a machine gun without any description and few birch and chestnut trees. Across the street there is a tank from WW II (see the cache
GC1TBJF).
