From the main trailhead in Abingdon, there are two ways to get to this access point. First, head south on Green Spring Road and continue south on VA75 for about three miles. Left (ENE) on Watagua Road for two miles to the trail crossing the road. Second route would be to head north from the main trailhead to get on Main Street US11 east. Under I-81 to continue onto US58 for another mile. Right (SW) on Watagua Road/SR677 for a couple miles to the trail crossing access. Less than 15 minutes driving either way, so a very popular alternate access point.

Unlike the main trailhead, there are no bathroom facilities here.
