The Industrial Directory of New Jersey (1918) (visit link) states that Sewell is on the West Jersey & Seashore Railroad, with a station in the village. In 1918 the population of the village is listed as 400 people, and the station sees 48 passenger trains daily. As of this writing, the station is listed for sale.
