----------
South Beach is a tiny Key West beach. It is positioned, appropriately enough, at the south end of Duval Street on the Atlantic Ocean side of the island.
This beach has almost nothing in common with its famous namesake located many miles to the north in Miami Beach. Even on a good day, you'll find little eye candy here.
This one is smaller and offers fewer activities than even the neighboring Key West beaches. There is not much to discuss. There are no restrooms, or anything else for that matter, so only locals and a few visitors staying nearby tend to come here.
There is a long concrete pier, known as the Emma Carrero Cates Pier, with nothing on it. You can stroll along it or, if you are traveling by boat, you can tie your boat to it and go ashore for a while.
You will hear some locals refer to this beach as City Beach. Ask for directions using either name and you will end up at the right place.
