On the Metropolitan Life, installed in 1909, are 4 four-story clocks mounted on the tower, one on each side. They are Italian Renaissance in style, with the time pieces encircled in wreaths and flowers. Each clock is 8 m in diameter with each number being 1.2 m tall. The minute hands each weigh half a ton.
