A tribute to cancer survivors, the plaza was completed and dedicated in 1996. Its home on the Ohio State University campus is fitting, given the incredible contributions of The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (also at OSU).
Particularly on "football Saturdays", thousands pass thru this plaza, which seamlessly raises awareness for the cause.
The plaza was named after Richard and Annette Bloch. Richard Bloch fought off lung cancer that he was diagnosed with in 1978. He co-founded H&R Block tax preparation service.
