Brig. Gen. A.M. Manigault’s
Brigade
On July 22nd 1864,
Brig. Gen. A.M. Manigault’s brigade, Hindman’s Div. Cheatham's
Corps, advanced
eastward from the Atlanta fortifications against the Federal 15th
Corps
posted at DeGress Ave., halted here in this ravine to reform their
line,
preparatory to the assault that resulted in the breaking the
Federal line and capturing DeGress Battery.
