Long Description:
We found this well when visiting Ireland and exploring the County
Clare countryside. Each town or village seems to have its own well
where holy water is collected to be used for blessing the home and
family. The wells are dedicated to saints and often have a history
associated with it. Some are at the roadside, others like this one,
are in churchyards or graveyards.
The URL included here is a Google book excerpt describing the well
and parish area. The Doonbeg and Doonmore castles mentioned are at
the shore if you look at a map of this area.
