Cartmel Priory is a medieval church that survived the Dissolution. The 1GL bolt and cut mark are to the right (east) of the south door.

Above the 1GL bolt is a doorway that has been blocked up. Originally the monks' buildings were on the south side and a night entrance through a covered walkway aided their nine services per day. The buildings were moved to the north side.
