Cathedral of the Pines is a non-denominational outdoor chapel. Many memorials to military service are located on the grounds, including several specific to women's contributions in wartime. This window is located in south wall of the museum building.
The "Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service" bill was signed into law by President Roosevelt on July 30, 1942, allowing women for the first time, to serve as commissioned officers in the U.S. Navy. This window was dedicated on December 26, 2004.
