The Sengbachtalsperre is located near Solingen (with its famous Schluss Burg). It was build to suppy the people with drinking water.

The Sengbachtalsperre is one of the oldest german water reservoirs. It was built between 1900 and 1903. Responsible was Professor Dr. Otto Intze.

Induction war on May, 28th 1903.

From the foundation level to the top the dam has a height of 43 m and it is 178 m long. The width at the base is 36,6 m and at the top 5 m.
Maximum depth of the water is 36 m and the total amount of water is up to 2,8 million m³.

The lake is 2,4km long and between 100 and 180 m width. Around the lake are a lot of trails for walking, jogging and biking.
