Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary is at the top of Marin Drive in Berkeley. The church and cross were built in 1965 for seminarians and staff to attend. The steel cross has been draped on church holidays such as Good Friday. It is tall enough that it towers above the church roofline to make it visible from the front entry, though it is behind it. The dominant cross was designed to augment the name of the chapel.
