This sundial is in the center of the parade grounds at the
Moffett Field Naval Air Station, now Ames Research Center.
The date on the sundial, 1933, is when Moffett Field opened. A plaque at the base reads:

This picture was taken at exactly 2PM (with daylight saving time), so the sundial appears to be pretty accurate!
