There are an addition 30 Knox Trail markers in New York State for a grand total of 56.
South side of RT67. Unlike almost all other of these Knox commemorative markers, this one is almost in the middle of nowhere. Perhaps a mile from the town center. Perhaps half a mile from the oldest house in Warren. Perhaps two miles from where I spent my wonder years and the first 'mountain' I ever climbed, that one in 1966.
Also of interest to Knox Marker enthusiests, Ben Franklin the first Postmaster General, placed mile markers all over Massachusetts, mostly along the Knox Trail, many of them listed on http://www.knowwarren.org/pages/milemrkr.htm and/or http://www.samnet.net/esso/Fmm.htm which was run by a childhood friend of my brother. From the mid 60's thru the mid 70's my brother and I bicycled between Warren and Springfield, and Warren and Worcester on many trips to visit and photograph all the Ben Franklin mile markers that he knew about.
