Recently refurbished, after the door fell off!
Extract from The Stratford upon Avon Herald (Local newspaper):
A CAMPAIGN to save and repair Alcester’s only Victorian post box in a bid to preserve the town’s heritage, has been successful.
The wall-mounted postbox in Priory Road, built in to the wall by W T Allen and Co in 1881, fell into disrepair earlier this year. The hinges were rusty and during the spring, the door came away in a postman’s hand.
The campaign to save it was launched by a resident in October, and was hailed a success when Royal Mail repaired and refurbished the postbox.
