Greeneville was formed at the interection of two major trails near a big spring. It was the capital of the State of Franklin during its short existence.

37 buildings of Federal, Greek Revival, and Late Victorian architecture spread over 1350 acres in this older Tennessee town. It the county seat with a federal court, thus support for historical perservation.
The gallery has a map with my attempt at drawing the boundaries of the NRHP district. There are signs for Greeneville Historical District placed much further out from the central intersection. Coordinates are for the Greene County Courthouse since it is central to the district.
