Exbury House was owned and used by the Admiralty for many years. At the very end of the gardens next to the Beaulieu River is the view point and Arromanches Plaque.
The plaque reads as follows:
'L.S.T. & LANDING CRAFT ASSOCIATION
IN COMMEMORATION OF H.M.'s SAILORS AND ROYAL MARINES OF THE BRITISH ROYAL NAVY WHO MANNED THE LANDING SHIPS AND LANDING CRAFT AND LOST THEIR LIVES DURING THE LIBERATION OF EUROPE IN 1944. "LEST WE FORGET".'
There is an information board adjacent to the plaque and seats all round to view the river.
