""The Angles " has the distinction of having been built by one of western Kentucky's most prominent 19th-century lawyers, Quintus Quincy Quigley (1828- ), and was also the residence most commonly associated with one of Kentucky's best known and best-loved politicians, Alben W. Barkley (1877-1956), United States Senator and Senate Majority Leader, and Vice President under Harry S. Truman (1949-1952). The house itself, set on a wooded property near the outskirts of town, is one of the older and more elegant residences of Paducah. Its architecture combines early and mid-19th-century features harmoniously." - National Register Nomination Form
The house built circa 1859 in a Greek Revival style. It is named for the sharp angles of three tracts of land the house is built on.
