On Route 72 Eastbound just over the Barnegat/Stafford Township border, this is yet another Bear in the Smokey-rich environment of the pine barrens.

Route 72 travels through the pine barrens, from Four Mile to Tuckerton and through Brendan Byrne and Greenwood Forests. This Smokey sits on the eastbound side of the highway, in Stafford Township, marking yet another Smokey in this area.
As the traveler exits the more remote pine barren area of Barnegat, and into the more developed area of Stafford, Smokey reminds you that fire danger is still present.
