The memorial is located in a small triangular park on the main street through Mound City. The memorial lists all veterans from Mound City who served in World War II. Along with the veterans names the memorial is inscribed:
"Erected In Honor of the Sons of Mound City In the Service of Their County World War II; 1941 to 1946"
