The Saguaro Cactus is native to Arizona, Sonora, Mexico, and California. The cactus flower is the state flower of Arizona. The cactus itself could almost be said to be the symbol of the American west. When you see a picture of this cactus it reminds you of the west. If you are unfamiliar with Arizona, you might think that the entire state is desert and these giants are seen throughout the state. However, although much of Arizona is desert, the state has many pine forests and even its deserts are many and varied.
The Saguaro Cactus National Park (
visit link) is located in Tuscon, Arizona. The Park is in the midst of a 100,000 acre wilderness area. The Park just as the rest of the state also has a mix of different environments including pine forests.
