The zoo was established by Prague municipal council in the 1990's. It hosts species typical of central European forrests, such as the badger, lynx, stone marten, or red fox, and several more unusual kinds (e.g. racoon). You can also see a number of birds, such as the barn owl, raven, buzzard, or kestrel. There are two fenced paddocks with roe deer, fallow deer, or mouflon. The zoo also serves as a sanctuary for injured animals and abandoned animal babies.
