Welcome to the Fort DeSoto's Arrowhead Nature Trail. The trail is one and a half miles long, however, there is a 'shortcut trail' that can make the walk approximately a half-mile long. There is also a 'spur trail' that adds another one half mile if you choose to walk this cul-de-sac. There are numbered stations along the walk. A brief description of the surrounding points of interest has been written for each station. PLEASE STAY ON THE TRAIL. Exploring off the trail may damage sensitive vegetation that takes many years to recover. Your own safety is another reason to stay on the trail. Poison Ivy is abundant throughout the area. All plant and animal life in the park is protected. PLEASE DO NOT FEED ANY OF THE ANIMALS IN THE PARK. Your quitness and consideration of others will be appreciated. Consider protection from the sun, a supply of water, and insect repellent before proceeding on the trail.

The educational signs you are about to enjoy were sponsored by a grant made possible with funds from the Tampa Bay Estuary license plate and with contributions from the Friends of Fort De Soto Park.
