This tree sits just outside of Dorman Hall on the MSU campus. The tree was damaged when the top broke off during hurricane Katrina, but it survived.
Unfortunately, the tree currently sits inside a very large construction zone, and is inaccessible. The road that passed right by the tree is now closed, and is being torn up to create a large park-like space in front of the football stadium. Update 8-24-2006: Recent construction at the site is complete and the area is open to visitors. During the summer of 2006, the university rerouted several roads in the vicinity and created a large park-like space beside the football stadium for use as a tailgating spot.
Additional information about the tree can be found on the
official moon tree page.
Information on construction at the site can be found on the
MSU construction information webpage.
