Text: 1/2 mile north, in 1784, Col. James King, Revolutionary veteran
who was at Yorktown, built an ironworks at the mouth of
Steele's Creek. A later associate was Governor William Blount.
With the King Ironworks was also the first nail factory in the
state. He is buried in the family cemetery 100 yards to the east.
The King family is buried off of Cemetery Rd - NE on 11E, then left/NW.
