The hot and humid summers along the Georgia-North Carolina-South Carolina border can be severe. Locals have used this corner of the 20-acre lake in Oconee State Park since it was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930's.
Its popularity was not apparent during my visit since it started snowing shortly after my departure. If you wish to see how much fun this location can be, please visit Oconee County’s
webpage for Oconee State Park.
