Welcome to Midnight Iguana Tattooing, Inc.
Midnight Iguana was the first Tattoo Studio in Athens. We opened for business in 1989 and are the only studio in town owned and operated by UGA Alumni. We are a full service studio where the individual is always important and our after care sets the standard for the area. When coming to our studio you can expect a personal consultation to assure that what you want is truly what you receive here. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us via email or by phone. 706-549-0190
TATTOO AFTERCARE

Remove bandage in two hours
Wash with mild soap and cold water
Apply mild hand lotion 2 to 3 times a day
Do not use Vaseline or anything similar (antibiotic ointment, etc.) on the tattoo
Do not soak tattoo in the bath, salt, or chlorinated water for at least 30 days
Do not suntan, or tanning bed the tattoo for at least 30 days. If you do either of these, cover the tattoo with some sort of bandage
BODY PIERCING AFTERCARE

Here are the DO's

Always wash your hands with antibacterial soap (like Dial) before touching your piercing.
Leave in your initial jewelry throughout the ENTIRE healing period.
Clean your piercing with the antibacterial soap.
(Do not use fingernails, as they harbor bacteria underneath them.)
Rinse jewelry completely.
Pat dry with a disposable paper product.

Here are the DON'Ts

Do not touch piercing with dirty hands or let anyone else touch it with hands or mouth.
Do not use alcohol. It is too drying and does little to clean.
Do not use peroxide. It kills live skin as well as bacteria.
Do not use antibacterial OINTMENTS. They are too clogging.
Do not submerge piercing in contaminated water such as pools, lakes, oceans, or whirlpools for as long as possible while healing.
Do not rotate piercing while it's healing unless washing it with the antibacterial soap.
Do not use tanning beds without covering the piercing.
