This river gauge is easily accessible to most visitors despite being in a Wild and Scenic River and along a busy US highway. On the south side of US Route 76, visitors can find parking (waypoint coordinates listed below) for a wayside overlook for the Chattooga. A simple sign directs visitors towards the river gauge if they choose to visit it.

The river gauge provides data on Discharge and Water Level Height.
