Clarisse maintains this 'eclectic' Hot Springs between I10 and US70 in Arizona, approximately 2-1/2 hours from Tuscon. There are public (group) baths, as well as individual tubs (several different temperatures, clothing optional) for private soaking. For a fee the public can use the baths during designated hours, however if you stay in one of the cabins, tee pee or camping accommodations you have 7-24 access to the hot springs.
Also offered are 'touch therapies' - massage, accupressure, etc - as well as ear coning. We were looking forward to the ear coning but unfortunately she had just used her last set of cones. Next trip, Clarisse!
The guest accommodations are very reasonable and offer community bathrooms and showers, as well as a well-outfitted guest house consisting of kitchen (with all necessities, utensils, etc) and living room (tv, books, videos, comfy seating, games, tables and chairs, etc). These come in very useful, since the cabins consist of something resembling one of those wooden storage sheds you would use for your garden tools. Our 'cabin' was clean and surprisingly comfortable, with two large beds, coffee maker and microwave, and I think it even had a tv. (I can't remember, we never used it, but there was a binder with numerous pages listing all the VHS videos that can be rented for a mere $1.) On one wall Clarisse (I'm guessing here) had painted an interesting mural that only added to the personalized decor!
There is a friendly pooch that stands guard - he was recently 'adopted' - but worry not, he's a real puppy dog and very playful!
With no plans my daughter and I were on a road trip, ambling across the country, and discovered this place word-of-mouth at a yard sale we visited on the road up to Seguara National Park. What a find!
