The Ocoee Whitewater Center was developed to host the Whitewater Canoeing and Kayaking events for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, GA.

In the middle of the Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee, the Ocoee Whitewater Center was the venue for the Canoe and Kayak Slalom competitions - for the first time on a natural river.
Today, the center continues to host kayaking and whitewater rafting activities on the river, but it also provides hiking and biking trails for those who do not want to get wet.
