B-1 "Lancer"
Designed and manufactured by Rockwell International, the B-1B was a long-range, supersonic bomber with the capacity for low-level, high-speed flight. Its variable-sweep (15 to 67.5 degrees) wings added to the aircraft's operating versatility.
Both the aircraft and its General Electric F101 engines were a staple of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center's management and maintenance workload from the 1980s forward.
Characteristics: span - 137'; length - 146'; height - 34'; weight - 470,000 lbs; top speed - 900 mph; range - 7,500 miles; ordnance - 41,000 lbs.
Dedicated this 27th day of July 2005
Maj Gen Terry L. Gabreski
OC-ALC Commander
