This is one of two spring houses in the village but this is the one with inscriptions round it. They read as follows:
'The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life Prov. 14.27'
'My soul is athirst for God'
'Yea, even for the living God psalm 42.2'
The spring house is an arch with polished stone set amongst the old stone wall.
The other spring house lies just to the north east before Peacock Lane; this one stands proud of the wall.
