Tragically on September 9, 1979, Officer Albert J. Breisinger lost his life while trying to save the lives of two young boys. Kenneth Long and Brad Reed were playing a dare type game near an opening in the ground. K. Long 13 went down the sink hole on a dare and didn't respond. Thinking he was playing, B. Reed 16 went down to get him and he didn't come back either. At that time the police were called and Officer Breisinger went down to retrieve the 2 boys and didn't come back. All three lost their lives this day due to carbon monoxide. This is a memorial to the three lives lost that day.
