In front of the outpatient area by the flagpoles are over 800 engraved pavers in remembrance of area veterans, some of whom probably served at Mather AFB when it was active from 1925 - 2000.

When the base closed, the property became industrial in some areas and kept the recreational area. build new homes in another part, maintained the air strip for UPS and FedEx freight, Natl Guard, Sheriff's helicopter, etc. Air Force one has been here.
This was the site of the original base clinic. Now there is a multistory (6?) hospital and numerous outpatient buildings.
