Some very nice frieze art above this door. This is the door to the right side of the church as you face the front.
The church was founded on June 3, 1770 by Junipero Serra. The present church structure was completed and dedicated in 1794. This is California's first Cathedral, dedicated as a National Landmark in 1961. It is the oldest continuously functioning house of worship in the state of California
