Civil War Marker Dedication
Saturday, April 18, 2009, at 2:00 p.m.
at Grapevine Cemetery
The Grapevine Historical Society is sponsoring a marker dedication for three Civil War soldiers who have lived in and were buried in Grapevine, namely: James Burgoon, Clement Moore and John W. Scribner.
Mike Patterson has done extensive research on these three veterans, obtained markers from the government, inscribed information on them, and with the assistance of Worthington Markers and Jimmy Reynolds, has placed them in the proper places in the Grapevine Cemetery on North Dooley Street in Grapevine, Texas.
He and fellow enactors will do a Civil War enactment at the dedication of these markers on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. We encourage you to come and be a part of this ceremony commemorating a part of Grapevine's history - the Civil War period.
