Along the drive from the duck pond to the Wellesley Town Hall, on the right is a bell by the old entrance to the Wellesley Public Library. There are two plaques in the bell's vicinity.

The plaque below the bell states:
"Original town hall bell placed here to commemorate Wellesley's Centennial - April 6, 1981."

The second plaque behind the bell states:
"Original Town Hall Bell Centennial Project made possible by gifts from the following - South Shore Bank; New England Telephone Company; Quota Club of Wellesley; Boston Federal Savings and Loan Association; Old Colony Bank; and Mutual Bank for Savings.
