The green roof reduces heating and cooling costs, reduces the urban heat island affect, and provides a visual amenity as well as decreased stormwater runoff. The parking lot was constructed using a porous concrete unit paver system that reduces the volume and slows
the rate of stormwater runoff. Much of the landscape area is a
bioswales system that filters, retains, and slows excess runoff from the roof and parking lot.
